What does it consist of?
The PADI Open Water diving initiation course contains, diving theory, confined water dives and open water dives. In total, we will do 5 dives during the Open Water course.
PADI theory
You can complete the PADI Open Water theory online from the comfort of your own home, at your rhythm and in your preferred language. Or you can do a theory lesson with one of our PADI instructors. This option includes a book which you must collect at Dive Academy before starting the course. You will learn the basic principles of scuba diving.
Confined water dives
During the first practical day of your course, you will be introduced to scuba diving. Your instructor will take you through the equipment and how to set it up. We will teach you how to communicate underwater and then help you take your first breaths. You will gain confidence and ability as we help develop your skills at your own pace.
Open Water dives
Once you have completed the theory and the confined water session, we will do 4 dives in the sea. We will take you into the Mediterranean Sea so you can practise everything that you learned during the confined water dive. During this course we will enter the water gradually and progress deeper in a very controlled manner. This way we prioritize the two most important factors to us, safety while having fun! We will do some more skill practice and later we will start exploring the outstanding underwater world.
